Obituary for Clara E. Hinz
Clara E. Hinz, age 99, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, surrounded by her loving family.
Clara was born December 31, 1919 in Merrill, daughter of the late Elmer and Rose (Peterson) Ullman. She married William C. Hinz, Sr. on June 28, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2003. Clara was a homemaker. She was known to all who loved her as “Cookie Grandma.” She enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill.
Clara is survived by a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hinz; her grandchildren, Sara (Keith) Klebenow and Terri (Craig) Marnholtz, both of Merrill, Kristen (Dean) Hermsen, Rothschild, Erick Hinz, Milwaukee, Todd Hinz, Tammy (Todd) Roman and Troy (Nicole) Hinz, all of Merrill, and Becky Zarate and Jessica ‘Jo’ Byer, both of Merrill; and her 17 great-grandchildren, Brittney, Ariel, Rheanna, Molly, Nicolas, Heather, Courtney, Seth, Sawyer, Parker, Chase, Brody, Elin, Elliott, Samantha, Zachary and Fawna; and a sister-in-law, Lois Ullman of Merrill. Clara was preceded in death by husband, William C. Hinz, Sr; parents, Elmer and Rose Ullman; son, William ‘Bill’ Hinz, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Donna Hinz; and siblings, Marie Roberts, Helen Cotey, Marge Neumann and Fred Ullman.
The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
