Obituary for James M. Young
James M. Young, age 85, of the Town of Schley, Lincoln County, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital, Merrill.
Jim was born April 8, 1933, in Merrill, son of the late Merton and Clara (Cooper) Young. He married Marcella Koepke in 1978, and she survives. Jim was a retired employee of the former W.C.A. Industries, Merrill. He enjoyed making firewood, feeding the wild birds at his home, hunting, and fishing, especially at his daughter Carol’s cottage in the Eagle River area.
Jim is survived by his wife Marcella Young of Merrill; his children, Carol (Gary) Hartwig, James Young, Dian Plautz (Tim Sprenger) all of Merrill, Bonnie (Tim) Banaszak of Waupaca, and Tom Young and Jeff Young both of Merrill; his step children, Martha (Tom) Johnson and Peggy (Jim) Schaupp both of Merrill and Rick (Paula) Marnholtz of Cambridge, Minnesota; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eileen Lipke of Merrill. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sons, John Young and David Young; a step son, Roger Weisman; three grandchildren, Tracy Banaszak, Damon Johnson and Baby Boy Wiesman; his siblings, Luella Henderson, Ila Reek, Elwin Young, Merton Young, Harland Young and Rose Young; and his favorite dog ‘Johnnie’.
At Jim’s request no services will be held.
