Obituary for Barbara Jean Spoehr
Barbara Jean ‘Barb’ Spoehr, age 63, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Barb was April 13, 1958, in Merrill, daughter of the late Lester and Doris (Mattson) Fruend. She married Greg Spoehr on October 25, 1997. He survives. Barb had been a school bus driver for Wendorf Bus Service in Merrill for 18 years. She also assisted her husband Greg with his tax service business. Barb enjoyed baking and cooking, especially around Christmas her favorite time of the year. She also enjoyed canning and flower gardening. Barb’s family was especially important to her. She adored her nieces and nephews, and the annual 4th of July Family Fireworks was always a special event in her life.
Barb is survived by her husband, Greg Spoehr; three sons, Allen (Karen) Spoehr, Patrick (Julia) Spoehr, and Jason (Holly) Spoehr; three grandchildren; her siblings, Brian (Peggy) Fruend, Peggy Klammer, Alice (Terry) Prueser, Sally (Louis) Yellstrom, DeeDee Fruend, Janet Wardall, and Lucy Callahan; and her beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Barb is preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Wayne Klammer, Jesse Callahan, and Lee Wardall: and a nephew, Mitchell Fruend.
Barb’s memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. David Szeto will officiate.
