Obituary for Mildred 'Millie' Kollmer
Mildred L. ‘Millie’ Kollmer, age 93, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Millie was born December 30, 1926 in the Merrill area, daughter of the late Arthur and Lora (Steckling) Gruetzmacher. She married John J. Kollmer on June 4, 1949 in Merrill. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1973. Millie had worked in the office at the Lincoln County Highway Department. Millie adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed attending their sporting events. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing; watching game shows on TV; and Friday night fish fry’s where she could socialize with family and friends.
Millie is survived by her children, Brenda Kollmer and Rodney (Lori) Kollmer, both of Merrill; three grandsons, Jon Kollmer of Merrill, Seth (LeAnn) Kollmer of Green Bay, and Sean (Kayla) Kollmer of Okauchee; and two great grandsons, Nicholas and Curtis.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Millie’s cremated remains will be buried next to her husband next spring in Merrill Memorial Park.
