Obituary for Thomas N. Sheldon
Thomas N. Sheldon, 73, of Merrill passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Thomas was born May 6, 1944, in Wausau, son of the late Norman and Joyce (Trudell) Sheldon. He married Kathleen ‘Kathie’ Bruss on May 8, 1971 in Spencer. She survives. Tom worked for over 38 years at Wausau Tile in Wausau. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Tom enjoyed golfing, playing cards and watching stock car races. He loved a fast Ford Mustang! In his earlier years, Tom enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie Sheldon of Merrill; sister, Barbara (Carl ‘Joe’) Carlson of Merrill; sister-in-law, Verena Sheldon of Donna, Texas; mother-in-law, Gertrude Bruss of Spencer; brother-in-law, Rich (Karen) Bruss of Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Joyce Sheldon; his brother, William ‘Bill’ Sheldon; and his father-in-law, William Bruss.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, November 24, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Chris Kemp will preside. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Friday, November 24, 2017 at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
