Obituary for Robert C. Beckman
Robert C. Beckman, 81, of Merrill passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Robert was born July 18, 1938, in Merrill, son of the late Marvin and Lillian (Schuster) Beckman. Bob graduated from Merrill High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 5, 1957. He was honorably discharged on November 25, 1960. Bob then went to work for the Merrill Street Department and eventually took a job at the former Wausau Papers – Brokaw. He retired in 1999 after working at the paper mill for more than 30 years. Bob enjoyed visiting with his grandkids, and fishing and camping. Bob was a huge baseball fan and enjoyed the watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheryl (Mike) Robinson of Red Rock, Nevada; three sons, Scott Beckman (Shar), Steve (Farrah) Beckman and Shawn (Nikki) Beckman all of Merrill; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lillian Beckman; and brother, Thomas Beckman.
A visitation for Bob will take place from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
