Obituary for Phyllis E. Zuelsdorff
Phyllis E. Zuelsdorff, 87, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, with her son by her side.
Phyllis was born August 7, 1932, in Merrill, daughter of the late August and Emelia (Klein) Hintze. She married Roger W. Zuelsdorff on September 19, 1953. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2010. Phyllis had worked at the former Merrill Woolen Mills and John’s Food King, both in Merrill. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Phyllis liked all sports, from the Brewers and Packers to watching her sons and grandsons compete in high school sports. Phyllis loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking road trips to the casino with Roger and she loved visiting Las Vegas. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards and cooking.
Survivors include her son, John ‘Buck’ Zuelsdorff of Merrill; daughter-in-law, Becky Zuelsdorff of Merrill; grandchildren, Gera Zuelsdorff of La Crosse, Luke (Ilizah) Zuelsdorff of Appleton and Tom Zuelsdorff of Merrill; sister-in-law, Gladys Hintze of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Zuelsdorff; parents, August and Emelie Hintze; sons, Paul, Mark and Keith Zulesdorff; grandson, Michael Zuelsdorff; and siblings, Ralph, Ruth, Alvina, Esther, Ted, Albert and infant Byron.
A memorial service for Phyllis will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 9, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. David Szeto will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M., Monday, at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
