Obituary for Patricia 'Pat' L. Salutz
Patricia L. ‘Pat’ Salutz, age 88, formerly of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 while residing in Appleton.
Pat was born May 15, 1930, in Valders, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Harvey and Hildegard (Schleh) Horstman. She married Robert C. Salutz on May 3, 1952 at St. Nazianz, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1995. Pat assisted her husband as the office secretary at the former Park City Insurance Agency in Merrill. Prior to her marriage, Pat was a certified child care provider. Pat enjoyed traveling, golfing, and bowling. While living in Merrill Pat was active in many community organizations including St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Pat truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pat’s family will fondly remember her quick wit and sense of humor.
Pat is survived by four daughters, Pam (Jeff) Arent, Kaukauna, Kaye (Ken) Smrecek, Tomahawk, Gail Heidemann (John Hofferber), Neenah, and Shari (Jay) Wicke, Tomahawk; one son, Greg (Barbara) Salutz, Wausau; twelve grandchildren, Kelly, Jason, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, Bryce, Caroline, Benjamin, Denton, Keenan, Erik, and Krista; and nine great grandchildren, Noah, Oliver, Macy, Ella, Alex, Brooke, Haydon, Harrison, and Hailey. Pat is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; a grandson, Boomer; a son in law, David Heidemann; and her sister, Arlene Kiel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Chris Kemp will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
