Obituary for OSC(SW) Nickolas Wayne Gulke
Operations Specialist Chief Petty Officer Nickolas Wayne Gulke, 33, of Lake Stevens, Washington, passed away at his home Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from natural causes.
Nick was born October 8, 1984 in Woodruff, son of Dennis Gulke and Connie (Herdt) Gulke. He married Erin Klug on June 11, 2005, in Merrill. She survives. Nick was actively serving in the United States Navy; he truly loved the Navy. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, R.C. cars, and took great pride in his project car, a 2000 Ford Mustang GT
Survivors include his wife, Erin Gulke of Lake Stevens, Washington; mother, Connie Gulke of Merrill; father, Dennis Gulke of Merrill; mother-in-law, Darlyn Klug of Merrill; father-in-law, Mark Klug of Mosinee; sister, Shavon Hinz of Merrill and her children, Carter and Kirklin; sister-in-law, Arnie (John) Leland of Merrill and their children, Kristy, Ruth and Dawn; other relatives and friends; as well as his Naval Family.
A memorial service for Nick will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Missy Miller will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. Monday all at the funeral home.
Nick’s family has requested memorials be directed to the ‘Never Forgotten Honor Flight’ or the ‘Northwoods Veterans Post – Merrill’.
