
Obituary for Melita J. Hall
Melita J. Hall, 90, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Melita was born November 6, 1929 in Merrill, daughter of the late Arnold and Elsie Weber. She married Roland J. Hall on June 5, 1948 in St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. Melita was baptized, confirmed, and was married all in her beloved St. Stephens Church. For thirty plus years Melita worked with the former ASCS office at the Lincoln County Courthouse. For the final 10 years of her working career Melita was with an abstract company in Merrill. Melita enjoyed having lunch with her lady friends every Wednesday, the occasional casino trip, reading, visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and socializing with people. Melita was a 1946 graduate of Merrill Senior High School.
Melita is survived by her husband, Roland J. Hall, Merrill; daughter, Sue (Michael) Hoffman, Merrill; son, Michael (Dana) Hall, California; her former daughter-in-law, Charlene Hall, California; four grandchildren, Dionne and Darcey Hall, Dayna (Chris) Mueller, and Aaron (Sara) Hoffman; twelve great-grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Dallas, Charles, Lindsey, Prescott, Louis, Marisol, Andrew, Max, Lucas, and Benjamin; two great-great-grandchildren, Dakota and Alice; her brother, Bill (Shirley) Weber, Merrill; two sisters-in-law, Violet Krueger and Kay Hall, both of Merrill; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Melita was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hall; her grandson, Andy Hoffman; and her siblings, LaMae Weber, Phyllis Belongia, Garvin Hankwitz, and Donald Weber.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. The Rev. Lucas Williams will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM Saturday at the church. SOCIAL DISTANCE PROTOCOL WILL BE PRACTICED AND WEARING A MASK IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
