Obituary for Mary Ann Riebe
Mary Ann Riebe, age 82, of Merrill, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at her home under the care of her loving family and hospice services.
Mary Ann was born August 9, 1934, in Merrill, daughter of the late Harvey and Clara Emanuel. She married Donald Riebe on December 21, 1960. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1982. Besides being a homemaker, Mary Ann worked as a waitress in the Merrill area. Mary Ann was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, where she served on several committees and was a member of the Dorcas Society. Mary Ann enjoyed knitting and crocheting, crafts, baking, and the company of her grandchildren.
Mary Ann is survived by two daughters, Cassandra Riebe (Patrick Roberts), Merrill, and Lesa (Dave) Williams, Springville, Indiana; one son, Darrell (Sue) Riebe, Merrill; eight grandchildren, Erika Riebe, Sarah (Thomas) Derrie, Tricia Riebe, Zackery Schwartz, and Dillan, Ashley, Dwyane, and Bruce Williams; 4 great grandchildren, Cameron, Keaton, Lucy, and Aleigha; one sister, Joan Johnson, Merrill; one brother, Harvey (Betty) Emanuel, Palm Coast, Florida; a brother in law, Donald Krueger, Menomonie, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Gano and Betty Krueger; three brothers, infant James, Gerald, and Roger Emanuel; and two sisters in law, Ruth and Darla Emanuel.
The funeral service will begin at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the church.
