Obituary for Mark J, Peterson
Mark J. Peterson, age 45, of Merrill, passed away January 8, 2016, at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Mark was born April 11, 1970, in Merrill, son of James Peterson and the late Bonita (Rahlf) Peterson. He married Jennifer Lokemoen on May 22, 1993, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill. She survives. Mark graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1988. He was a member of the Merrill Silver “M” Club. Mark worked as the pricing specialist at Marathon Electric, Wausau. He had served as a Merrill City Council Alderman for many years. He was actively serving on the Merrill Zoning Board. Mark was a member of the Lincoln County Sports Club and had helped for many years with arranging the annual banquet. He enjoyed attending Special Olympics events with his son, Zach. Mark also enjoyed spending time at his shack in the Town of Pine River, and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Peterson of Merrill; two sons, Zachary Peterson and Konnor Peterson of Merrill; his father, James Peterson of Merrill; his mother-in-law, Judi Johnson of Merrill; his father-in-law, Jim (Kristine) Lokemoen of Merrill; and his dog, Abby. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Peterson; his grandparents, Robert and Rosalie Peterson and Ellen Rahlf; and his father-in-law, Charles ‘Bubs’ Johnson.
The memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Dr. Dennis R. Creswell will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
