Obituary for Marjorie 'Margie' Goetsch
Marjorie M. ‘Margie’ Goetsch, 76, of Merrill passed away peacefully in her home of natural causes on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

Margie was born May 24, 1944, at Merrill Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Emma (Meyer) Ollhoff. On December 15, 1962, she married Michael Goetsch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. She enjoyed 57 years spent with her wonderful husband.
Margie upon retiring from Wausau Insurance, took classes to become a Master Gardener which is something she took great pride in. Her gardens were featured in Garden Walk in 2005. She also enjoyed her wonderful grandkids and her children. She spent time cooking meals and baking pies for her family. She loved spending time with her close friends, going to dinner and playing cards with them. Margie was a very active member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, working on the quilting committee, Bible study, holiday decorating, also planting, and maintaining the gardens.

Survivors include sons, Steven Goetsch of Merrill, Peter Goetsch of Eland; daughter, Shari (James) Snyder of Weston; her beloved grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Doerr, Amy, and Alex Goetsch of Merrill; her sisters Elaine (Larry) Schuman of Madison, Dorothy (Bill) Ballard of Oshkosh; brothers Roger Ollhoff of Merrill and John Ollhoff of Arkansas, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her husband Michael Goetsch, parents Alvin and Emma Ollhoff, in-law’s Rudy and Helen Goetsch, and sister Norma Sandbom.

A private family memorial will be held for Margie at a later date. Her cremated remains will be buried alongside her beloved husband, Mike, next spring in Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Maine. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill is assisting the Goetsch family. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com.
