Obituary for Marjorie 'Marge' Baumann
Marjorie F. ‘Marge’ Baumann, 79, of Merrill, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under the care of her family, the nursing home staff, and hospice services.
Marge was born May 31, 1941 in Merrill, daughter of the late Fred and Fern Schmidt. She married Harold W. Baumann on April 24, 1974 and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1996. Marge and her husband were the owners and operators of ‘Harold & Marge’s Bar’ on Merrill’s west side and she continued to operate the business after his death. Marge also worked as a cashier for over 26 years at Wal-Mart in Merrill. Marge cherished the many friends she made at Wal-Mart and at the bar.
Marge is survived by her children, Amy Jo Berndt (Josh Trantow), Mary Jo (Brian) Hofele, and Kevin Schmidt all of Merrill, and Bill (Katie) Baumann of Ringle; her step children, Judy Condo of Antigo, and Kathy (Tim) Naef, Ken (Lynn) Baumann, and Rick Baumann all of Wausau; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, Shirley Pysnack of New York, Rita (Dennis) Kremsreiter of Merrill, Nancy Culbert of Athens, Marlene Hughes of Alaska, Kathy Kessler of Green Bay, Connie Hehling of Minnesota, and William (Evelyn) Schmidt of Hamburg; and her sister in law, Linda Schmidt of Merrill. Besides her parents and husband, Marge is preceded in death by her siblings, June Tesch, and Jerome, Randy, and Robert Schmidt.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Adam Rodriquez will officiate. Burial will follow in Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Wednesday at the church. WEARING A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED AT CHURCH.
