Obituary for Marjorie Joyce Hovind
Marjorie J. Hovind, age 98, of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Wausau Manor.
Marjorie was born February 18, 1923, in Wisconsin Rapids, daughter of the late Frank and Edna Kandzora. She married Neil Hovind on January 18, 1947, in Wausau. He preceded her in death in 2010. The couple lived in Minneapolis for 11 years prior to Neil’s retirement. Marjorie thoroughly enjoyed life in the Twin Cities. They moved to Merrill in 1980 and made this their permanent home. Marjorie moved to Apple Gate Terrance Assisted Living in 2017. Marjorie was a homemaker. She enjoyed learning about and investing in the stock market, sketching and painting, cooking and baking, and her homemaker’s club. Marjorie was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Irene Kreis of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews, Ann (Todd) Anderson of Wausau, Bob (Kay) Kries and John (Pat) Kries, both of Eau Claire, and her niece Amy Otis of Malibu, California; two great nephews, Richard Anderson of Wausau and Whitman Otis of Malibu; and a great niece, Amy (Andy) Sondelski of Edgar. Besides her parents and husband, Marjorie is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Glen Martin, and a nephew, Greg Martin.
The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Deacon Jim Arndt will officiate. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
