Obituary for Marjorie D. 'Marge' Heidemann

Marjorie “Marge” Dawn Heidemann, age 97, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.


Marjorie was born July 30, 1926, in Merrill, daughter of the late Ray Turbin and Delores (Egan) Cotter. She graduated from Merrill High School in 1944 and then was employed at the former Co-op Grocery Store in Merrill. She married Victor Heidemann on September 13, 1947, at the former St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Pine River. Marge farmed with her husband in the Town of Pine River until retirement in 1988. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2014. Marge was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and was a former member of Calvary Christian Women. She loved to read and do word puzzles. She also enjoyed collecting ceramic tea pots and decorating her living areas with wall hangings, flower arrangements, and knick-knacks.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Timothy (Kelley) Heidemann; daughter-in-law, Laurie Heidemann; grandchildren, Heath Heidemann, Heather (Jason) Wolff, Ross (Melissa Gilbert) Heidemann, and Dirk (Jessica) Heidemann; great-grandchildren, Cade, Aaron, Allison, Tavin, and Brynlee; brother, John Cotter; and half-sister, Ellen Barbre. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Heidemann; parents, Ray Turbin and Delores Cotter; stepfather, John N. Cotter; infant son, Michael Heidemann; son, Scott Heidemann; grandson, Justin Ames; sister, Geraldine Dotter; half-brothers, William Turbin, Richard Turbin, and David Turbin; brother-in-law, Gordon Dotter; sister-in-law, Gene Cotter; and her grandparents, aunts and uncles.


The funeral service for Marjorie will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. The Rev. Jennifer Hoffman will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
