Obituary for Marie A. Leopold
Marie A. Leopold, age 98, of Merrill, died Monday, April 25, 2022, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Marie was born November 14, 1923, in Merrill, daughter of the late Albert and Pauline (Tobalski) Strasser. She married William ‘Bill’ Leopold on September 16, 1944, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2013. Marie had worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill, and retired after many years of employment. Marie spent her entire working career with Weinbrenner. Marie enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in the Boulder Junction area and spending time with family at the farm. She loved her grandchildren and looked forward to visiting with them.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Leopold, Merrill; one grandson, Jeremy (Melissa) Leopold, Wisconsin Rapids; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Chloe; three step great-grandchildren, Riley, Maddie, and Katie; one brother, Edward Strasser; and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Leopold; parents, Albert and Pauline Strasser; and siblings, Walter Strasser, Albert Strasser, Raymond Strasser, Joseph Strasser, George Strasser, Lawrence Strasser, Orville Strasser, Dorothy Koppa, and Lucille Strasser.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
