Obituary for Marcella M. 'Sally' Voigt
Marcella M. Voigt, 91, of Merrill, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at her home.
Marcella was born on November 24, 1930, in the Town of Hamburg, daughter of the late Marvin and Adeline (Borchardt) Langbecker. She married Earl Voigt on April 14, 1951, in the Town of Berlin. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1982. Marcella was a homemaker, she valued time with her family more than anything, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marcella was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill, where she helped with the altar guild and the Dorcas. She was a member of the Red Hatters, the Merrill Homemakers, and the German Club. Marcella enjoyed going out for a fish fry, gardening, going to concerts at the park, and polka dancing.
Marcella is survived by her children, Marcia (Bruce) Plautz of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, Mark (LeAnn) Voigt of Merrill, Angela (Guy) LePage of Merrill, and Shawn (Breigh) Voigt of Merrill; grandchildren, Brandon (Jody) Plautz, Briana (Tina Weaver) Plautz, Ryan (April) Voigt, Adam (Ericka) Voigt, Megan Voigt (Tom Henrichs), Robert LePage, Grace LePage, Jacob LePage, Ivan Voigt, and Ashley Voigt; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Pehlke of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Lola Schmidt; brother-in-law, Carl Voigt; and many nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Voigt; parents, Marvin and Adeline Langbecker; great-grandson, Chase Voigt; brother-in-law, Leonard Pehlke; mother-in-law and father-in-law; as well as many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
The funeral service for Marcella will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Monday at the church. . Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
