Obituary for Lois M. Severt
Lois M. Severt, age 81, of the Town of Pine River, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Lois was born June 4, 1934 in Mattoon, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Herman and Ruth (Jaeger) Lemke. She married Donald P. Severt on February 9, 1957 at the former St. Luke’s Church in the Town of Pine River. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1996. Lois had worked for many years at the former McLellan’s department store in Merrill. Later, she took on several residential housekeeping jobs. She made many lifelong friends through these jobs. Lois enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and daily devotion. She loved preparing and hosting Sunday meals for her family. Lois was always smiling and was a very happy person who loved jokes.
Survivors include her children, Debra (Todd) Schwartzman, Dianne (Brad) Detert, Mark Severt, Chris Severt, Thomas (Carmen) Severt, Patrick (Jane) Severt and Robert Severt, all of Merrill; six grandchildren, Dale Severt, Katelyn Detert, Devon Severt, Tiffany Detert and Morgan Schwartzman, all of Merrill, and Bethany Detert, of Green Bay; two step grandchildren, Craig Voelz of La Grande, OR and Adam Annis, of Minneapolis, MN; one sister, Marilyn (Ewald) Kattke, of Merrill; and one brother, Elmer (Judy) Lemke, of Merrill. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Severt; her parents, Herman and Ruth Lemke; and her brother, Dale Lemke.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 25, 2016 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. The Rev. Susan Christian will officiate. Burial will take place in Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Pine River. The visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Monday at the church.
