Laura M. Gryskiewicz, 90, of Merrill, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at Rennes Health & Rehab, Weston.
Laura was born August 19, 1933, in Chicago, daughter of the late William and Anna (Smith) May. She married Eugene Gryskiewicz on July 24, 1954, in Highland Park, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2015. Laura was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. Laura enjoyed watching her favorite shows on television and playing the lottery.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Desi) Gryskiewicz of Oklahoma, and Eugene S. (Sue) Gryskiewicz, Frances Wienke, Kip (Penny) Gryskiewicz, and Patrick Gryskiewicz all of Merrill; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Louise DeCent of Sutherland, Nebraska, Alice VanNurden of Osakis, Minnesota, Delores Arellano of Omaha, Nebraska, and Joe May of Brady, Nebraska. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Gryskiewicz; parents, William May and Anna May Ash; son, Clarence Gryskiewicz; son-in-law, Roger Wienke; and siblings, Bill May, Ruth Loving, Walter Mayes, Kathleen George, Vera Sleeper, Virginia Hedger, and Pat May.
The funeral liturgy will take place at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Friday, September 29, 2023, at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Father Mariadas Vallabhaneni will preside. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
