Obituary for Kenneth 'Ken' Krueger
Kenneth Krueger, 85, died Monday, October 4, 2021, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
Ken was born December 8, 1935, in Merrill, son of the late Reinhardt and Ella (Pruesser) Krueger. In 1962 he married Delores Feairheller who preceded him in death in 1989. On September 19, 1992, he married Dionne “Mitzi” Spears. She survives.
Ken enlisted in the United States Navy on January 11, 1955. He was honarably discharged on February 18, 1971. Ken worked as an electrician while serving in the Navy and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1638, Merrill. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything that had to do with ships or nautical themed. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife, Dionne “Mitzi” Krueger; sons, Bill (Melissa) Krueger, Russell Krueger, and Mark Rethaber; step-children, Mary Weisshahn, Cindy (Jim) Waldburger, and Brenda (Del) Nicholson; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhardt and Ella Krueger; step son-in-law, Bill Weisshahn; step daughter-in-law, Janet Rethaber; siblings, Donald Krueger, Dorothy Hommerding, Janet Somi, and Leonard Krueger.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate. Entombment will be in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum with graveside military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1638. Visitation will be Friday, October 8, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday beginning 10:00 a.m. all at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
