Obituary for Joyce M. Christian
Joyce M. Christian, 88, of Merrill, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Joyce was born July 31, 1930 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Wolff) Jetty. She married Bert Poi and he preceded her in death. She then married Arvin Christian on November 11, 1972 in Wausau. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2008. Joyce was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Town of Maine, Marathon County. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and volunteering at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Rick) Koplitz of Wausau; son, Bert Poi, Jr. (Leila Marnholtz) of Merrill; four grandchildren, Wendy Kreager of Wausau, Scott (Kelly) Kreager of Merrill, Wayde (Dawn) Kreager of Wausau and Amy Schilling of Wausau; six great-grandchildren, Chayse, Conner, Kate, Micayla, Alishya and Samantha; one great-great-grandchild, Grayslyn; and brother, Joe (Delores) Jetty of Appleton. Joyce was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; an infant son, Michael Poi; and four siblings, Edward, Gerald, Fritz and Armeda.
The funeral service for Joyce will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church, Town Maine, Marathon County. The Rev. Donald Love will officiate. Burial will take place at Faith Lutheran Cemetery – West, Town of Scott, Lincoln County. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
