John L. ‘Jack’ Pagels, 81, of Merrill, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at his home under hospice care, surrounded by his family.
Jack was born June 25, 1941, in Milwaukee, son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Otto) Pagels. He was an entrepreneur and a jack of all trades. Jack was a people person and could have a conversation with anyone. He enjoyed traveling, especially to New Orleans and most recently, Key Largo.
Jack is survived by his best friend and business partner of thirty-six years, Brian Duginski of Merrill; daughter and favorite son-in-law, Penny (Tim) Braun of Shiocton; son, Jeff Pagels of Merrill; grandchildren, Gavin (Brynn) Braun, Erin (Jim) Fiel, Craig (Megan) Braun, Cody (Sabrina) Pagels, Logan Pagels, Bryton Pagels, and Lariah Pagels; numerous great-grandchildren; sister and favorite brother-in-law, Margie (Bruce) Chadwell; and brother, Bobby Pagels. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Margaret Pagels; brothers, Richard Pagels, Ernest Pagels, and Jerry Pagels; and grandson, Chase Braun.
