Obituary for JoAnn A. Marvin
JoAnn A. Marvin, age 74, of the Town of Schley, Lincoln County, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
JoAnn was born August 15, 1944, in Merrill, daughter of the late Erwin and Dorothy (Borchert) Plamann. She married Jerry Marvin on May 23, 1964, in Merrill. He survives. JoAnn was a 1962 graduate of Merrill Senior High school, and was currently an active member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason. JoAnn had been employed in the office at Marathon Electric for over 35 years, and had also worked as a waitress. She enjoyed visiting with people; tending to her garden; watching the birds, especially the Humming Birds; golfing; and sharing her sense of humor. JoAnn was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Gleason Lioness Club.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Jerry Marvin, Merrill; her son, Jay (Amy) Marvin, Merrill; three grandchildren, Jake Marvin (Grace LePage), Miranda (Tyler) Kopetzky, and Desiree Marvin, all of Merrill; and two brothers, Gerald Plamann (Sandra Nichols), Merrill, and Arnold (Julie) Plamann, Rhinelander. Besides her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Plamann McCaskill.
A Memorial Services for JoAnn will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial of JoAnn’s cremated remains will take place next spring in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
