JoAnn was born November 5, 1937, the second of eight children, to Walter and Mabel (Severt) Sherfinski. She was united in marriage to Everett Rogers on February 7, 1953.

She was a loving and supportive wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She and Everett enjoyed many adventures together and traveled to many places across the United States. Most recently, they enjoyed “snow-birding” in Arizona. JoAnn enjoyed bluegrass and classic country music. In years past, they made many fond memories with family and friends at Hodag. JoAnn enjoyed many “girl trips”, countless memories and laughs were always had. She was the queen of clean and always shared helpful tips with her children and grandchildren. She was a fantastic seamstress and enjoyed sewing. She took pride in her writing and journaling. She was a faithful Christian and proud of her Catholic upbringing.

JoAnn was known for her kind and gentle spirt. She was full of grace. Her family admired and respected her wisdom and would turn to her for advice, a listening ear, or her shoulder to cry on. Friends, family and sometimes strangers, were always warmly welcomed into her home, most often with a hot cup of coffee and one of her famous baked goods. She was a wonderful cook and talented baker.
