Obituary for Harlan H. LaPerriere
Harlan H. LaPerriere, 73, of Merrill passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Harlan was born on May 12, 1944 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, son of the late Howard LaPerriere and Phyllis (Deates) LaPerriere. When Harlan was two years old, his mother married Harold Kretschmar, and together Phyllis and Harold raised Harlan. Harlan married Lorraine Kleinschmidt on June 1, 1963 in Woodruff, WI. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2015.

Harlan enlisted in the United States Navy on June 25, 1962 and was honorably discharged on June 25, 1968. After his service in the Navy, Harlan held various jobs including Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Northern Specialty and Church Mutual. Harlan was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1638 - Merrill. Harlan enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball especially the Packers and Brewers.

Survivors include his daughters, Shevon (Jeff) Schmeltzer and Nicole (Don) Rohde of Merrill; three granddaughters, Amanda (Dustin) Adams, Candace (James) Graap and Amber (Tim) Mulrooney; eleven great-grandchildren, Lakeyn, Ayden, Kenzingtyn, Hudsyn, Madyson, Jayden, Emersyn, Graycen, Irelyn, Addilyn and Aislyn; and his half-sister, Bonnie (Collin) Stanton of Dickinson, Texas. Harlan was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; his parents, Phyllis and Harold Kretschmar; and his birth father, Howard LaPerriere.
