Obituary for Geraldine 'Gerie' Racino
Geraldine M. ‘Gerie’ Racino, age 75, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Tender Reflections, Weston.
Gerie was born June 23, 1943 in Wausau, daughter of the late Floyd and Lois (Schaffer) Laffin. She married LeRoy A. Racino on September 11, 1965. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2010. Gerie had been employed at Lincoln Wood Products in Merrill. Gerie was a fan of ‘Elvis’, Brett Favre, the Green Bay Packers, and the South Dakota State football team where her grandson is currently playing. She also enjoyed bird watching and camping.
Gerie is survived by her daughter, Jacki (Fred) Gruetzmacher of Merrill; son, Todd (Gail) Racino of Weston; three grandchildren, Jonathon Gruetzmacher of Merrill, Alex Racino of Weston and Adam Racino of Weston; and two sisters, Dawn (Darrell) Arndt of Merrill and Judy (John) Radzinski of Tennessee. Gerie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Darla and Roger Emanuel.
The funeral for Gerie will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will take place the next day in Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Maine, Marathon County. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
