Obituary for Georgine A. Schneider
Georgine Ann Schneider, 65, of Merrill earned her wings on July 6th, 2019. Born February 19th, 1954 to Emil and Eleanor Hartwig, she touched the hearts of many with her sweet, loving soul. Wed to Thomas J. Schneider for 40 beautiful years, they built their life and home together.
A loving mother and grandmother, Georgine loved children of all ages. She was always playful at heart. Endlessly creative, Georgine enjoyed sewing, creating Halloween costumes, customizing sweatshirts with travel patches, and quilting. An avid crafter, she created many of her own Christmas ornaments and household décor. She fell in love with genealogy, looking for past relatives and scrapbooking her family's ancestry. Georgine loved gardening and could be found most of the summer cultivating the most beautiful backyard.
She was very fond of lighthouses and enjoyed trips to Lake Michigan and Superior. Georgine travelled with her family to Germany to see her step daughter Jenny and step granddaughter Laura in 2018. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved making cookies and decorating her tree with her son Bernd A Schneider, his wife Lisa, and her grandson Landen. She always looked forward to holiday get-togethers with her brothers, Jerome, Gerald, Gary, and Duane Hartwig. Georgine and her sister, Clarice Carstensen were the best of friends and enjoyed their time together shopping, crafting, and scrapbooking. At work, Georgine's beautiful smile and laugh greeted visitors in admissions at Good Samaritan Hospital. She is dearly missed and the warm, loving light of her soul shines on us all.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 11th, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Chris Kemp will preside. Burial will take place in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
