Obituary for Florian R. Koehler
Florian R. Koehler, 92, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
Florian was born March 22, 1928, in Merrill, daughter of the late George and Lydia (Krueger) Raasch. She married Glenn R. Koehler on June 10, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2009. Florian worked in the Lincoln County Treasurer’s office for forty years, beginning after high school. During her career, she served as Deputy Treasurer and was elected Lincoln County Treasurer in January of 1969. She retired in December of 1988. Florian and Glenn also dairy farmed in the Town of Scott. Florian was an extremely hard worker; she was very dedicated to her job in the Treasurer’s office as well as on the farm. She enjoyed the peacefulness of the farm and its surroundings. Florian loved her children and their families.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Barb) Koehler of Merrill and Wayne (Lisa) Koehler of Marshfield; four grandchildren, Laura Koehler of Chippewa Falls, John Koehler of Stillwater, MN, Krista Koehler of Minneapolis, MN, and Rachel (Jake) Limmex of St. Paul, MN; two brothers, Wayne (Liz) Raasch of Manteca, CA and George (Frances) Raasch of Marathon; and one brother-in-law, Harry F. Dahm of Merrill. Florian was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; parents, George and Lydia Raasch; sister, Dorothy Dahm; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lucille Raasch.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.
