Obituary for Florence G. Schroeder
Florence G. Schroeder, 83, of Gleason, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Florence was born July 1, 1936 in Langlade County, daughter of the late Herman and Gertrude (Leichtfuss) Kuhr. She married Albert Schroeder on May 11, 1957 at Unity Evangelical and Reform Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2010. Florence enjoyed flowers and gardening; being outside on her lawnmower; decorating her yard with lawn ornaments; birds, especially hummingbirds and orioles; decorating her house for holidays; and taking care of her cats. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Florence was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason, where she was involved with the Women’s Bible Study Group.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra (Randy) Peck of Gleason; four sons, James (Alice) Schroeder of Gleason, William (Sara) Schroeder of Gleason, Steven (Lori) Schroeder of Merrill and Roger (Ann) Schroeder of Gleason; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Kilty, Sarah (Dan) Neumann, Amanda (Jacob) Bartz, Rachel Peck, Jacob (Mary) Schroeder, Cody Peck, Emily Schroeder and Sophia Schroeder; three step grandchildren, Frank Reich, Adam (Dani) Reich and Amy (Jim) Turner; ten great-grandchildren, Cadence, Cameron, Jameson, Ryker, Bentley, Chael, Corbin, Alayna, Charlotte and Lincoln; one step great-grandchild, Isaiah; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Kuhr and Helen Kuhr both of Antigo. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Schroeder; her parents, Herman and Gertrude Kuhr; and thirteen siblings.
The funeral service for Florence will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will take place at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Cemetery, town of Russell. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at the church.
