Obituary for Edmund A. 'Ed' Winchell
Edmund A. Winchell, age 65, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center – Marshfield.
Ed was born July 20, 1956, in Merrill, son of the late Stillman and Cornelia (Amelse) Winchell. Ed had worked at Northern Specialty, CWA as a truck driver, and Kolbe & Kolbe Windows. He also worked for Chub VanDerGeest’s cattle company. Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and having fires. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; his family was the most important thing.
Survivors include his daughter, Celina Lee (Eric Hanson) of Merrill; step-daughter, Rachel Huey (Ryan Reifschneider) of Hartford, WI; grandchildren, Raelyn, Amaya, Maliki, Lorek, and one grandchild on-the-way; sisters, Sandra ‘Sandy’ Winchell of Merrill and Anna Winchell (Clarence ‘Chum’ Hayek) of Wausau; brothers, Levi Winchell of Merrill, Gerald (Nancy) Winchell of Mayville, Gerard Winchell of Rothschild, and Louis (Mary Ann) Winchell of Hatley; sister-in-law, Donna Winchell; and many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Stillman and Cornelia Winchell; and his siblings, infant Agnes Winchell, Carol Winchell, Susan Winchell, and Emmit Winchell.
A memorial service for Ed will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 9, 2022, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
