Obituary for Dorothy M. Kayhart
Dorothy M. Kayhart, age 86, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home.
Dorothy was born November 30, 1932, in the Town of Pine River, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Henrichs) Eikelmann. She married Edward Kayhart on October 18, 1958 in Pine City, Minnesota. He survives. Dorothy worked as an underwriter at Church Mutual Insurance Company, Merrill, for 37 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. Dorothy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in her yard, flower gardening and reading. She also watched the Green Bay Packers and more recently started watching basketball because of her grandsons.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Kayhart of Merrill; daughter, Kathryn (Jon) Kumbera of Wausau; son, Thomas Kayhart of Merrill; grandsons, Kyle Kumbera of Mobile, Alabama and Jared Kumbera of Green Bay; sister, Helen Meyer of Merrill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Margaret Eikelmann; and brother-in-law, Gilbert Meyer.
A private memorial service will be held. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
