Obituary for Donald Lawrence King, Sr.

Donald L. King, Sr., age 83, of the Town of Summit, Langlade County, died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his home under the care of his family and hospice services.

Don was born September 17, 1935 in the Town of Summit, son of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Payne) King. He married Annabelle Valenta in November of 1959. She preceded him in death on April 12, 1986. Don was a Wildlife Fire Fighter and Equipment Operator for the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, retiring after 35 years of service. Don enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and ATVing.

Survivors include his daughter Jean (Dan) Parizek, Gleason; three grandchildren, Mike Parizek, Gleason, Brian (Brittney) Parizek, Deerbrook, and Daniel King, Gleason; and one great granddaughter, Annabelle Parizek, Gleason. Besides his wife and parents, Don is preceded in death by a son, Donald King, Jr. on July 21st; a grandson, Matthew King; a great grandson, Walker Parizek; and his sister, Geraldine Elliott.

Graveside services for Don will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Summit Cemetery, Town of Summit, Langlade County. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill is assisting the family.
