Obituary for Diane M. Chartier
Diane M. Chartier, 85, of Merrill, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.

Diane was born March 23, 1935, in Merrill, daughter of the late Roy and Eileen (Frechette) Paul. She married Edward ‘Ed’ Chartier on November 3, 1956. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2020. Diane and her husband were the owners and operators of the former Lincoln Realty in Merrill. Diane was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill, where she was also involved in the Joy Circle.

Diane was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, she was a past member of the Guardian Council of Job’s Daughters, and she also served as a Brownie leader for many years. Diane enjoyed gardening, reading, feeding the birds and squirrels, and watching the wildlife in their backyard. She enjoyed also entertaining. She was a wonderful mother who did a great job taking care of her children.

Diane is survived by five children, Julie Chartier, Missy Chartier, Tracy Chartier, and David (Colleen) Chartier all of Merrill, and Nicole (Richard, Jr.) DuBois of Marco Island, Florida; 14 grandchildren, Lee (Liza), Alex (Bobbie), Nick, Tori (Ben), Luka, Matthew (Roseanna), Allison, Ethan, Karlie, Lee, Bradley, Hilliary, Emma (Jarred), and Jordan; and 12 great-grandchildren. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Chartier; parents, Roy and Eileen Paul; daughter, Mary Chartier; and siblings, Richard Paul, Sally Bachi, Barbara (Matt) Duginski, and Roger (Sally) Paul.

A private funeral service for Diane was held. Burial took place at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. A video recording of the funeral service is posted under the photos and videos tab of this obituary.
