Obituary for Daniel L. Klemp
Daniel (Dan) Luther Klemp was born on July 29,1949, to the late William and Signe Klemp in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He later moved with his family to Merrill, Wisconsin where he attended St. John Lutheran School and graduated from Merrill High School with a gold tassel. Dan spent his last years at Mount View Care Center in Wausau, Wisconsin. Dan was called home to be with his Savior on April 7, 2022.
Dan loved Merrill Bluejay football and all things sports related. He spent many hours writing football plays for his brother Garreth ‘Gary’ Klemp who coached grade school football. Dan also loved spending time with his family especially when it entailed going out to eat, seeing the Merrill fair, or water ski shows in Tomahawk. His nephews will lovingly remember Dan for his favorite reply when asked if he wanted a pop, “I want an ice cold pop!” His humor will be greatly missed.
Dan is survived by his brother, Gary (Joyce) Klemp of Thiensville, Wisconsin, and sisters Kathy Klemp of Weston, Wisconsin, and Marie (Mark) Riebe of Merrill, Wisconsin. Also surviving are nephews Christopher Riebe, Jonathan (Jacquelin) Klemp, Timothy (Nicole) Klemp, Brandon Riebe, and niece Elizabeth Klemp. Dan will be missed by his grand nephew Carter, and grand nieces Anna, Everly, and Madison.
The family thanks the nurses and staff at Mount View for their love and compassionate care for Daniel over the many years he lived there.

The funeral service for Daniel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. David Szeto will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
