Obituary for Dakota Grace Brown

Dakota Grace Brown, 16, of Merrill, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023.


Dakota was born October 10, 2006, in Stevens Point, daughter of Lynnea Brown and Chad Brown. Dakota was a sophomore at Merrill High School. She recently started working as a dietary aide at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. Her goal after high school was to travel and explore the world.


Dakota absolutely loved her family and friends. She adored her brothers and loved taking care of her two dogs and three cats. Dakota always thought about everyone and made sure they were ok. She told everyone she loved them and had the biggest heart. Dakota’s favorite hobby was tending to her plants at home. She also enjoyed music and fashion.


Survivors include her mother, Lynnea Brown (Caleb Peckham) of Merrill; father, Chad (Riley) Brown of Fox Lake, WI; brothers, Jay Brown and Peyton Brown both of Merrill; half-siblings, Remington, Oliver, Milo, Hudson, Kingston, and Jasmine; maternal grandfather, Curtis (Anita) Brown of Rockville, MD; maternal grandmother, Ann Bledsoe of Rome, WI; paternal grandfather, Rick (Bonnie) Brown of Shawano; paternal grandmother, Michele (Cameron) Sims of Fox Lake, WI; Caleb’s parents, Richard (Barb) Peckham of Wisconsin Rapids and Goldie (George) Peckham of Gleason; and many close friends. Dakota was preceded in death by her maternal step-grandfather, John Bledsoe.


A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
