Obituary for Alladine A. Thurs
Alladine A. Thurs, 94, formerly of the Hamburg area, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill.
Alladine was born December 7, 1926 in Rib Falls, daughter of the late Walter and Amanda (Steidinger) Wilde. She married Wilmer Thurs on April 10, 1948 in Rib Falls. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2016. Alladine, along with her husband, owned and operated a dairy farm in the Hamburg area. Alladine enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening; cooking and canning; raising the chickens and pigs; crocheting and needle point; and making rhubarb and apple pies and jams. After they retired, Alladine and Wilmer enjoyed traveling around the United States.
Alladine is survived by two daughters, Marlene Teske of Merrill, and Kathie (Dennis) Smith of Tomahawk; three sons, Lyle (Susan) Thurs of Hamburg, Kenneth Thurs of Medford, and Randy Thurs of Hamburg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Mathwich of Wausau; brothers-in-law, Harvey (Mavis) Thurs of Schofield, and Elgart Thurs of Hamburg; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Alladine was preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law, Ivan and Sandy Thurs; daughter-in-law, Sandy (Mrs. Randy) Thurs; son-in-law, Wayne Teske; great-granddaughters, Harper Knaack and Ryley Smith; siblings, Edna (Andrew) Bargender, Adeline (Harold) Hanke, Dorothy Wilde, Harvey (Virene) Wilde, and Duane (Barbara) Wilde; and in-laws, Gordon Mathwick, Norman Thurs, Orville (Iris) Thurs, and Shirley Thurs.
The Thurs family would like to thank Woodland Court Elder Services for the care they gave our mother while she resided there, and Nurse Practioner Bernie for all her visits. The family would also like to thank Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital and Nurse Practioner Jennifer Friday and her staff for the great care they gave our mom during the last days of her life.
The funeral will be at 12:00 PM, Noon, on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Pastor Tryphine Olson-Schruba will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hamburg Cemetery, Town of Hamburg. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
